Cape Waters Oil Paintings....
Inspired by the waters of Cape Cod. The ponds, the rivers, the bay and ocean, Cape Cod is surrounded by water. I paint small canvases on site, often with the "21 In Truro" artists. Back in my studio, these small paintings and my memory are the references to create large oil paintings on canvas.

Three oil paintings inspired by the Beechwood Forest in Provincetown, MA, and the poem, The Green Forest Deepens by Sheila Handler for exhibition at the Provincetown Art Association and Museum, Visions and Voices of the Outer Cape, 2007.
"The forest engulfs me like the sleeves of a kimono.
Lush secrets to explore.
Perhaps a new comfort and freedom will be found."

On painting with The 21 In Truro
21 In Truro is a gift of a sharing week with artists. Moments of solitude during that week come not from working alone in my studio, but from being completely lost in the painting process, on site, capturing a view that will never be seen quite that way again.
Our landscapes are being covered with people made objects, changing the views forever. Nature adds her elusive qualities. Every moment the light differs, changing colors, shadows and shapes. The wind shifts, blowing earth, water and sky in yet another direction. The elusive moment becomes the challenge, the excitement.
