Spanning The Years

I am very pleased and honored to have been invited to have this exhibition at The Cape Cod Museum of Art. When I first spoke with Liz Hunter, Executive Director of the Museum, she was particularly interested in the idea of showing my father's works with mine. A father, daughter, two generations of artists.
My father's works included some of his early oil portraits and progressed through the goauche paintings he did in the 1930's and 1940's for advertising illustrations. There were drawings and illustrations through the 1960's. My paintings included a few early works, 1960's through the 1990's. The main body was the new works created for this show. The oils, Lush Environments were influenced by my father's teaching and by the many places I have lived, Mexico, London, New York and Cape Cod. As different as these places were, a common thread of color, movement and mood runs through all of my work. |

Highlights of the exhibition were the Gallery Talks given by Suzanne. One of these talks included a surprise visit by friends from Pelham Memorial High School.
